Default 0-60 really 6.8 seconds?

I was looking to purchase one of these cars, until i realized going with an 08 model would be better lol

but i was looking at the lexus.com website and it says 0-60 in 6.8 seconds. isnt that a bit slow for a car with 272 horses. Now, i know im not posting in the IS forum with a bunch of teenagers, but has anybody gone to the track and tested it out? just curious.

It does seem a bit high to me. The car really doesn't have much bite from a stop (not to mention awful torque steer), but for highway passing purposes the car is sufficient, though it does hesitate when you punch the gas.

I've haven't track tested my car, but Car & Driver shows 6.2 and Consumer Reports 6.4 sec in the 0-60 sprint. The ES weighs over 3,500 lbs.

I can just imagine the laughs that you would get when you pulled up to a track with the ES350.

6.x is about right.
I gunned it on a loaner car I had. It felt like 6-7 seconds.

it's nice to abuse when you don't have to pay for the gas in the loaner car.

Yup. I drove the LS460 at the Taste of Lexus event and guess what?

Same damn transmission to engine to gas pedal disconnect.

Lexus just doesn't seem capable of designing a transmission/drivetrain that gives you the power RIGHT NOW.

They do a lot of other things right but drivetrains are just not their thing!

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Superb.

Toyota told me the same crap about learning when we owned our Sienna. They train those service advisors well. They sure are consistant!!

Been removed for a few weeks and now I have a clearer understanding about this trans problem. I think we’ve been ragging on the wrong guys here, It’s not Lexus, they didn’t design it, it was Toyota that designed and built the silly thing for the Camry and it’s being used for the ES. Toyota did it, get um spot!! Oh-oh I think I’ve gone over to the darkside! Lol

Hmmm, have you tried the IS350? When I hit the gas, the car goes immediately.

6.8 seconds? Maybe RX350.

I have driven a ES350. As the owner of a GS400, I'd say 6.8 seconds is a conservative estimate by Lexus. It's not the first time they've done this and I'm certain it's not the last either. Around the lower to middle 6 second range sounds about right. To me, the more impressive thing about the ES350 was highway passing power and noise levels.

And if you want a Lexus that can go when you stomp on it, I would also recommend a GS430. I'm a little biased though
