Wink A positive thread

I was a little late coming to work this morning so I had to speed a bit. Usually, I keep below 60 since I am still in the break in period, but I went up to 80 today. The drive was awesome and this thing handles extremely well. The ES might look like a BIG size sedan, but it handles similar to a sport car (maybe exaggerated a bit here). I just want to say it drives like a dream and can't wait the break in period is over so I can do some serious damage. I know everyone's worrying about the tranny slip, but sometimes you have to look at the bright side. I am not going to let a few flares eat my life away.

Here is a pic of my previous ride, it was a great car but the tranny took a dump at 26k.

More power to you to try to look on the bright side under the circumstances. ons.. caused me to realize there is more to life than worrying about a hosed up transmission in brand new car, after the initial shock anyway.

Dragon, we have a couple of things in common. I had the Acura CL coupe in it's last year of production. IT was also black- very sharp car. It had some major recalls involving the tranny. I felt uncomfortable with it so I traded it in for an 05 Accord which I now traded in for the ES. Hopefully , that little flare you experienced was the trasmission going through a learning process and was a one time event. There is so much to like about this car. Continue to stay positive and enjoy your car. I wish you many years of safe and troublefree driving with your ES.

I had an 03 TL type S. Like it very much, but loved my 04 TL even better. Never had a tranny issue, but I know they were common. There are many things I like on the ES, but there are some things I miss on the TL. Nevertheless, enjoy the ES. It IS a very nice car and rides nice. Read the forum with a "grain of salt", stay informed, and drive safely!! Enjoy!
