age and previous vehicle
Hello everyone! I am curious what is the age group for all the ES owners and what car did you guys drove previously before upgrading to the new ES? I'll start, I am 30 and the car I traded in was an 2002 Acura TL TypeS. This is my first Lexus, always drove honda/acura my whole life.

Well, I’m 57 we bought two new Lexus IS350 and ES350 as part of my early retirement plan – 2 new cars and no car payment over the next 7-10 years. My wife’s IS is doing find but this ES may change things ERRRR. Our pervious cars were a 98 Camry and Mit 02 GTZ.

35, did not really get rid of anything for the ES350, more like cleaned house a little.
But I guess you could say I finally got rid of my ES300 for it, and I regret it- I should have just kept the car but a friend of my wife's needed a car badly and wanted my ES so I figured why not?

I'm 23, this is my first Lexus
prior to this, I bought a '05 Camry XLE V6 back in '04 and had one Camry prior - a '93.
The ES350 isn't quite a replacement since the other cars are still sitting around - I just drive this more than the others.

Intermediate
Age, 51.
My previous vehicle was my beloved '96 Camry.
Yes it was 11 years old but basically trouble-free all those years.
The battery needed to be replaced twice in the past year and a half and that started to freak out my family. Don't know if I was getting defective batteries or something else was wrong, but it was 'recommended' I get a new car before something more serious started happening with it.
A lot has changed in the 11 years since I purchased that vehicle.
Almost everything in this car is now controlled by electronics.
I absolutely hate that! Especially when the manufacturer doesn't allow you to make changes to settings in the car.
If this car had a manual control for the air recirc feature I wouldn't be having the problems that I'm now faced with.
If it didn't have telescopic steering I wouldn't have had to have it disabled at the dealer's before I picked up my new car.
And on and on it goes .....
I don't know how I'll feel in a few months (had my car three weeks now), but right now I miss my Camry!

Grandpa says!!
Well I must be the oldest on this thread and I am just about to trade in my much loved 2003 430LS for a 2007 350ES.
The LS is a wonderful automobile but at 77 and my wife at 75 we decided that the size of the ES was easier for us to handle than the LS. I will miss the luxury and prestige of the LS but think I will be happy driving the luxury edition of the ES. Lots of toys and it seems, sufficient power to continue to give us the magnificent Lexus surge.
We have owned every thing from a 1936 Vauxhall Straight 6, a Hillman Minx, Morris Minor, Wolsey 1500, Chevy Belair, Rambler SW, MBZs, BMWs, Infiniti, Lexus 300ES and Jags. Favorites are both the Lexii we have owned.

Lexus Champion
Dwelsh,
Amazing, that is my all time most favorite car ever to this day!
At 10 years old I drove my Dad's on the property, got it hung up on a fence and burned out the transmission reverse trying to get it unhooked before he got home from work
It was a medium dark blue with push button transmission and it was an antique then.

47 here.
This is my first Lexus (LS someday).
Last two cars were Camrys. A green 1992 XLE I4 (purchased December 1991) and a sage 1998 XLE V6 (purchased June 1998). Couldn't part with either one so we just bought the ES outright. Both beloved Camrys are still driven daily.

I am 64. Bought an 07 ES350, had many problems similar to those reported here, very dissatisfied, hated it. Responsible dealer full value traded it for an IS350 with which I am very satisfied.
