Your right but the cost is far outweighed by the number of people I have discussed the problems with and have swayed to buy something else instead of a Lexus. I am to the point where, if someone asks me about the noises with the car, I comment I should have bought another Lincoln.
Oddly, they seem unaware of the consequences of the BS on the ES, the only person, on record that is, that seems aware is the CEO, Watanabe, who does not BS on quality issues as he calls them an emergency, but he has too many inept under him.
You would not think they'd pull so much BS on a 3rd time Lexus buyer as myself at that time with former ES350 since I helped them build their standing, but they did.

Garsarno is the 1 out of 9 or 1 out of 10 where the replacement trans seems ok. I knew of one other, Marc who had reported his was ok so far don't know if it held up though as he hasn't reported in months, all others reported second and third transmissions failed so far.

So far the transmission is good. I mix it up during the week, using full throttle when cold and warm, part throttle etc and it shifts firmer when cold but I have not experienced the flair from the original transmission. I can't even mask the cold engine tick / knock to people, esp when our church is 1 mile away and they can hear the knock as I approach. Asked the majority of times "your car was knocking as you pulled in, anything wrong?".
