If I'm reversing and press any of the display buttons, like AUDIO, the backup camera view goes away (expected) but after pressing AUDIO again there is no return to the backup camera view (unexpected). The only way to display the backup camera feed once it has been interrupted is to shift out of reverse and then back in.

Nothin' like wanting to look at the song title/nav screen/climate info in the display as/while you're backing up, eh? LOL!!! j/k!

...Please, this is still a Lexus.

Well I personally feel that Lexus has gone a few steps too far in their decisions as to what should be luxury features.

The telescopic steering is one example, the stereo tone controls being embedded into one **** (for goodness sakes, how impractical!), obligatory moonroof...

I'm actually surprised that they haven't included coffee and croissants being automatically served in the morning when you start the engine. Maybe that will be a standard feature in the ES-380?

Speaking of ES-380, does anyone know how Lexus decides on their naming/numbering scheme for the ES line?
Let's see, ES-300, ES-330, ES-350. The next one could either be ES-380, ES-360, ???

The number designator refers to the size of the engine in liters, 3.0, 3.3, 3.5 etc. Same thing for other models, IS 350 etc.

You say that like there's something wrong with using the visor mirror to shave. It has a great little light on it and I always use a "safety razor" (you can never be too careful).

I found out today that my personalized setting automatically locking the doors at 13 mph also works in reverse.

How did you find this out? Did you actually drive your car in reverse at 13 mph? Supposedly, I didn't think that speedometers give you a speed reading in reverse.
Is this a joke?

I'm glad to hear that something works on the ES350.

I hope you caught it before the FOB went into the dryer!

No joke. I'm relatively good at driving in reverse and last night I had the occassion to drive fast enough in reverse that my door locks tripped.

You're right, the speedometer doesn't register reverse speed, but since the door locks locked and I was going at a good clip I presume I hit the 13 mph trigger.

Wow! I wouldn't have expected that. Good thing - I hear they're expensive to replace.

I opened it up to make sure the battery was dry and everything inside the inner seal appeared to be dry.
