ES350 vs. MB E320 CDI
Has anyone here already done the comparison between these two cars? They both look like winner. Although, the ES350 would probably come out on top as to keeping repairs down in a long ownership scenario. If both models cam be leased for close to the same $$ would the E320 be a better buy?

Here is a snippet from KBB ... Though quieter than most diesel engines, the E320 CDI's engine clatter is still easily detectable. If you insist on Lexus-like silence in the cabin and don't want to fuss with the diesel engine's cold weather temperament, the Lexus GS 450h hybrid is probably a better choice... they also compare the MB w/ the Acura RL , Infiniti Q45 SPORT & the GS, as the MB lists in their price range.

Pole Position
For what it's worth (and in my opinion only)...
I drove the Mercedes E320 (gasoline) prior to getting the ES350. I would not have a diesel because of the smell which I really do not like to the point that it bothers me. Here are some of the things I considered.
Lexus pros:
1. The price, although you are considering a lease and I purchased.
2. The Nav system in the Lexus is better.
3. The back seat is larger in the Lexus and I have two kids so this is a very important consideration. My 10 year olds feet got stuck under the drivers seat in the Benz.
4. Keyless system
5. Panoramic roof
6. Mark Levinson stereo (sounds better to me than the Bose in the E320).
7. HID headlamps that turn (not sure if in the Benz)
8. Backup camera
9. Soft perforated leather with ventilation
Benz pros:
1. Handling
2. Build quality (???, time will tell)
3. Status
4. Lots of torque with the diesel
5. Rear reading lamps
From my perspective (and pocketbook) the Lexus was the better value.
