Default Brake Light On....Then Off

My mother has an 2000 ES300 and in the morning when she starts the car, the Brake Warning Light stays on. Then after about three minutes, the light goes off. Has anyone had this happen to them before? She just took the car in for the 60k service to the dealer.

I had that happen before, but not on my Lexus... it was on a Dodge Stratus loaner Does the brake warning light on/off only after starting the car, or does it happen a few more times while driving? I suspect that there might be air bubbles or dirt/grit inside the brake fluid line, causing the warning light to be triggered. You should have the brake fluid system checked at the dealership.

Thanks, Ill pass that on to her. She called the dealer and they said she might be low on brake fluid.

Just fill it with any dot3 (or if pickey fill with toyota/lexus) fluid and see if the problem persists, If so...then try and rebleed the brake components to see if the problem persists...
