Back Shocks/Struts?
I recently bought a 92 Es, and I feel the struts/shocks/Cv Boots are bad. Whenever I go over potholes, or speedbumps, it does not seem to be too much cushion. I have not ridden in another 92 ES, so I do not have anything to compare it to, but it seems like every bump is real hard.
Can anyone tell if its the struts, shocks or boots?
How can I tell which of the above ones it is?
Is there a way for me to check the condition of the struts, shocks or boots?

You have struts. Most likely servicable cartridges since you have a 92. Look into Tokico or KYB strut cartridge replacements.

I have the same problem with my 93 Camry LE V6, which is basically the same car as the ES300. My car has a very harsh ride and picks up even the smallest bump in the road. Someone on the Toyota forum told me that the trunk lid has to be removed to replace the rear struts. My car will barely press down, when I press down on the bumpers. For my Toyota, the price for the rear struts are $150.00 ea, but they said I could get them for $135. Probably more for the Lexus, even if they are the same, just because it is a Lexus. I have heard that the Monroe sensa-tracs offer the smoothest ride. They are $77 ea for the rear and $89 ea for the front. At least I know that my car is not the only one that rides harshly. Must be defective struts, as typically when a strut fails, it fails soft, with excessive bounce.
