I see the upgraded one is 10 more amps at 90 amps. What is the advantage of that?

10 amps. What it actually means is the alternator has more reserve so it gives cleaner power, less spikes. You should be able to use the 100 amp versions from the 2002+ ES300/330 but not 100% sure on that. The connector is the same maybe the mounting is different?

I think I am going to go with the upgrade. Just have to park it and use my wife's ride until it comes in.

Anyone use this and can vouch for it? I see no reason why it would not work.

I put a 130amp from that seller in my ES no issues. Technically I should upgrade the wiring but I don't have anything in the car that draws very high wattage. The 90amp will work for sure, for the price why not get extra power? I like that they use original Denso cores.

The 100 amp I can't say for sure if the mounting is the same, I think it is but that's not good enough.

Ordered the 90 amp and waiting for it to come in. Hoping to install the same day if possible.

Alternator replaced. Anyone ever broke the tensioner bolt while tightening up the belt? Happened to me.

Going to see if I can get a replacement from Napa unless this is a dealer item. Hoping I get the other half of it out of the part it screws into.

Many people have done this. If you can't salvage the slider they are about $8 at Toyota, the bolt is $3-4 at the dealer.

Do you happen to have part numbers? Thank you!

Thank you! Another question: the wiring harness that clips to the alternator broke apart some. The clip part broke when I was removing. That seems more complicated to repair. I think it will connect and hold.

$14 and some change later, it is complete.

If my belt squeaks occasionally, does that mean it is too tight or too loose?

Usually too loose but not always, belt could be worn out/glazed. Why not put a new one on to go with your shiny alternator. Naturally make sure the pulleys are clean a few shots of brake cleaner will do it.

Oh on the clip that broke it is not hard to replace it is taped on, you can get a new one if you're really picky. Unless you mean the large connector.
