Maybe I will look at replacing the belt. It looked like it was in pretty good shape with no cracks or anything like that. I can still see the writing on it. I will clean the pulleys too. I have some brake cleaner.

If the belt looks that good then keep it. Generally you can spot a loose belt by revving the engine up to around 1600rpm a loose-ish belt will vibrate/flap around.
