Default IS300 Center Cap Damage w/h Mothers

Be careful if you use Mothers Foaming Wheel and Tire Cleaner. Paint on 2 of my IS300 wheel center caps came off when using the product. Mothers says it's a strong cleaner that may compromise older paint finishes.

There must've been no clearcoat [faded/chipped] on those two centercaps.

Mother's has no acid content in it, it's strong degreasers, which is why it doesn't work as well as an acid you get in bulk... Frankly, I have no idea how you managed that... must've left it on for longer than 30sec, as that is all it takes. I use acid on a weekly basis on wheels and have yet to see it do that, I have done rail dust on my mom's entire CT200h PAINTWORK - with no adverse effects...

Don't bother getting new centercaps, go to partsource/napa/oreilly's, and get Duplicolor Paint Match in a spray form.
Bring in one of the good centercaps into the store and match with a generic Toyota silver. The Lexus logo's just pop off from behind and you can epoxy back in place after.

Been touching up OEM wheels that have curbage using the above method for years. Well, I actually use the touch up pen, but same idea. And to respray centercaps, you're not going to brush it on...
