1996 ES300 Turn Lights and Hazard not working
Hello, my first post here, after doing a lot of google searches and not finding any answer. I just replaced the factory stereo with an aftermarket stereo. I then noticed turn lights and hazard lights had stopped working. After reviewing the forum, there was a suggestion of hazard switch not being plugged back in, so I took it back to the store and they removed the stereo to confirm the hazard switch was plugged in correctly. They also tried to resolve the issue by replacing all the fuses just in case, but still no luck.
I read that potentially the "flasher/relay" may have become faulty. I found the flasher in the big dept auto store but don't know the location where to replace it, and if it is user-replaceable i.e something I can just plug-out/plug-in or does it require auto repair knowledge. The store said its near the driver side fuse panel but did not find it there - it only contains fuses, which were replaced.
The store also said I need TWO flashers - one for turn signal and one for hazard, though in the forums I read the one flasher controls both. do I need one or two flashers?
The store also suggested turn switch may be faulty- is that a possibility i.e. would that also affect hazard switch?
Anything else before I have to give this to a dealer or repair shop?
Thanks!
Raj
