2002 ES300 trunk release button not working

Hello,

Trunk release button from inside does not open the trunk but the remote trunk open on the key opens the trunk just fine. What should I be looking at to troubleshoot the inside button not working?

Double check the trunk lockout switch isn't depressed in the glove box, if there is one.
