Yeah, basic security measures (keeping the car locked and the key out of the car) will be enough. This isn't Grand Theft Auto where you just press a button to hotwire a car. Thieves go for quick and easy, e.g. keys in the sunglass holder or in the ignition or hung on the garage wall.

1. Don't leave your keys and valuables inside your vehicle.
2. Lock all doors.
3. If a thief is very determine, nothing will stop him from stealing your vehicle....he will tow your vehicle away....or break into your house to steal the key....or take a gun to your head...
4. Maybe the garage door wasn't closed....many times I pressed the button and the garage door sensed something in the way and popped back open. Or someone opened the garage by mistake....why not lock your car doors and leave the car keys inside the house for extra security? I also have a summer car in the garage. I lock the doors just in case my wife (or anyone) leaves the garage door open by accident.....

If you can locate the fuse for your fuel pump you could open or burn the fuse, solder wires from each side of the fuse to each side of a single pole single throw switch. Presto you have a switch on and off for your fuel pump. Long enough wires to hide the switch, maybe under the dash on the left side and you have it.

You would be bypassing the fuse that way -- the fuse is there for a reason!!

So then put an inline fuse in. Not rocket science.

The easiest solution....don't leave your key inside the car with the car door unlock. Not rocket science.
