Default replacing hood torsion bars 97es300

my hood won't stay up so i need to replace the gas torsion bars. i didn't find the info via a search so i thought i'd better post this. here is the info off of them: toyota 53440-33060 Tokico. the one on the driver's side is JC3 while the passenger is JD1.

where is the best place to purchase them? i assume that i should replace both at the same time. also, is there a how to replace them?
thanks,
mikeB

thanks,
how do you test to see which one, or if both are bad? other than the obvious that they are not holding the hood up.
thanks again,

I bought mine from RockAuto. Its best to replace them in pairs. Here's how I did it:

Factory Tokico units are excellent and will last another 15 years. However, they're very expensive compared to what you can get in the aftermarket. I went the cheap route and have been satisfied with the performance. They don't work as well, but hold the hood up.
