Default In Memoriam: 1997 - 2016

This past Monday was a very difficult day for me; due to an accident I had earlier in April I decided to get rid of my 1997 Lexus ES 300 as the repairs greatly exceeded its value. I got this car in 2011 when I was 16 as a gift from my mom at 129,000 miles and loved every moment I had driving, cleaning/detailing, and repairing her. I guess life goes on but as my first car she will always have a very special place in my heart. Always.

Here she is just a few months ago in her prime:

Here she is on Monday May 2, 2016 being taken away, final mileage was 202,777 miles:

So beautiful, that's a she is going to a wrecking yard to be parted and rotate for the rest of her life. You kept her longer than I have kept any car my max is about two years then I get bored and want to move up. I'm felling that way with my current ES.

Front end damage, I rear ended a truck and it messed up the front including some critical points in the engine bay.

As you can see the rest of the vehicle was in pristine condition but it'll probably end up in a junk yard somewhere waiting to be parted out. I would have kept it and just fixed it up slowly but I'm in college and can't afford the extra expense right now.

I was in the same situation. My dad gave me his old 97 ES300 with 125k miles at the time.
I drove it till +280k miles....got it towed away to junk yard for CAD$300 in my pocket.
