Default What is this noise?

97 Lexus ES300
Noise documented here:

I've had this rattle since I've owned the car-- about 6 months.

I've replaced the ball joints (other issue but thought it could be this), torque strut mount, and sway bar links.

I have sway bar bushings but they looked OK and the tie rods were in the way so I didn't replace em.

I'm thinking it's time to move to more expensive things and look at the struts and mounts.

Any ideas?

I remember reading this tread and it was something simple. Hard to tell with the recording but maybe worth a read. Good luck!

I'll have to look for that hook. Its not immediately apparent... His video sounds completely different from mine, but the first commenter may have something for me.

Thanks!

Check your exhaust rubber hanger directly under the shifter/center console.

Mine was a loose hanger mount.

It does sound like a stabilizer linkage. Did the rattle remain completely the same after replacing it? Are you sure its coming from the front and not the rear linkage?

Does it sound like its coming from outside or inside the vehicle? It could be a loose dashboard panel too.

Usually strut mounts make a louder clunk or poping sound when they're busted.

Sitting in the car, it just sounds from the front. The rattle is still there and it seems to be completely the same, if not worse... I will try and tighten them further just in case.

However, I replaced BOTH links at the front (driver and passenger) and nothing is rattling from the front driver side :/
