Talking 2004 ES330 HID Retrofit

Hey guys. I've ordered the Mini H1 projector kit from Retrofit Source. I'll be installing the HID's in my ES and doing a full write up. I hate the halogen bulbs and it will be a good write up to do for others to try. I'll keep you informed. I got 50W ballasts and 5,000K bulbs.

Subscribed. Maybe I'll convince my dad he needs a retrofit on his ES so I can learn how to do it properly before I attempt on my GS.

Lots of info over on HIDplanet.com.

I replaced my 02-04 lights with the 05/06 projector units, re-used the ballasts and replaced the D2R bulbs with D2S bulbs (you need new ballast covers though also as well as new 194 bulb sockets).
Best upgrade you can do to these cars IMO.

I would also consider using the Opt7 kit instead of the HID. Very good light output, claimed 3500 lumens per bulb and it's certainly close to that, without the high voltage and UV radiation of xenon. It's also totally plug and play so all you need to do is fit the projector assembly into the lights. If my ES had halogens originally instead of xenon reflectors, I would have gone that route for the low beams.
