DIY 2ES door actuator fix
New Member who took & use this forum for years and wants to give back
I did lots of searches everywhere for a fix on a 2ES but found Zero so I uses info from lots of other members to sort out the issue
Problem - driver's door lock stop working
Fix - rebuild (clean) the little 12V DC motor (inside the actuator) with cleaning fluid as it was all gunked up with 'carbon'
Cost - just cleaning fluid and rags but lots of time sorting (hence this post) dealer wanted $300
Skill - if you can't get to the DC motor this fix is not for you
But once you have the motor out its low skill level
Please do your search on this forum as to troubleshooting and to how get to the DC motor (thanks Frogee)
Use a small screwdriver to pry two small prongs holding the cap to the body apart (don't break)
Push the shaft out of the body and go to town cleaning everything inside with an electrical cleaner, air dry & assemble DRY
Also testing every step of the way is your friend when installing actuator
