Default Strongly considering purchasing 2003 es300...

http://www.championshipmotors.com/ve...1d2789967c760/

I recently rear-ended another car with my 98 corolla. The parts and labor to fix it would be almost 800 and that is not worth it to me. I knew my next car was going to be either a lexus, acura or infiniti. ES 300 seems like the best choice for me. This one is very clean and I liked it when I drove it. My dad thinks its a stupid decision to buy a car with 140k miles on it for 6000 but it seems like a good deal to me.
What do you guys think? Anything else I should look for before I close the deal?

Always hard to tell from internet photos, but exterior looks really nice. Bit of wear on the interior, but not terrible. Usually a good idea to have an independent mechanic do a pre-purchase inspection. Find a place familiar with Lexus/Toyota or at least someone that is a master tech. 6000 sounds like a decent price for dealer.

You're in my general area, haha. I have an 03 ES300 and I absolutely love it. If only Redmond wasn't so far away from Burien. I'd give you a good deal on a buyers inspection. I'll check Toyota's NSH database and see what type of services have been done for the car. Just PM me.

I went into Lexus and pulled the service history reported by the Lexus dealership.

Two things I did not see were the timing belt/ water pump change (85K recommenced replacement.) and spark plug change (120K recommended replacement). If you want to inquire if those have been changed.

Also I did not see any drain and fill for transmission fluid. (more preventive maintenance and easy to do.

Yea the spark plugs are easy and you can do this your self most likely.
The water pump and timing belt are usually done together around 90k and are more difficult to do your self. And more pricey parts/labor wise
