Hi there,
In the morning, when I press the trunk from the remote and lift up the trunk, the alarm goes off. It's been happening a few times already. Any suggestion?
Thx,

so you press the key fob to release the trunk
and immediatly the alarm goes off or only when you actually go to lift the trunk?
it may be a problem with the alarm brain itself as it should go into bypass mode and stop monitoring the switch once it open the trunk
as well as it should be deactivated by that time

"immediatly the alarm goes off or only when you actually go to lift the trunk?" - Only when I lift the trunk then the alarm goes off.
"Does it happen with the doors or the gas fill door too?" - It does not happen with the gas fill nor the door.

I just asked my friend about his '98 ES, and his alarm doesn't go off when the trunk is popped open from the key fob. Two possibilities: (1) trunk wire is somehow attached to the alarm, thus causing the trigger, and (2) a mercury tilt switch is attached somewhere, may be inside the trunk liner if you don't see it, and will cause the alarm to go off.

Are you on the factory or aftermarket alarm for your ES?
