Weird high pitched whine
Hey all I've had my ES since March of this year. But today I recently noticed that there is this awful high pitched whining noise, and I was wondering what I can do to fix it. I'm guessing it's the alternator but I'm not entirely sure.

Sounds like it could be the alternator.
To make sure, take a mechanic's stethoscope and hold it to the alternator and the sound should be very clearly located; then move it to the timing cover, valve cover, etc. to make sure it's not louder/clearer there.
When I lived around Louisville, what we used as a mechanic's stethoscope was made by Craftsman and had a flat-blade screwdriver on the other end.
