Default Question on Headlight Bulb Replacement

Hi, I have a 2000 Lexus ES300, and the headlights have become very dim. The low beams are very dim and I want to replace the bulbs with something that is much brighter, but with bulbs that will last a long time. What is the best type of bulb to get? Where is the best place to have them installed? Autozone said they would try to install it if it was not difficult to get to. I did try to replace the headlight bulbs myself once, but it did not go well. What type of bulb should I get?

Please help!

I purchased an HID Kit (35W, 4300K color), so I will be doing that... I'll let you know how it goes this week.

As for bulbs, if you do it yourself, ensure that you have gloves on. Any oil that touches the bulb will just increase the wear on the bulb.

If Autozone can do it, you can do it. Tons of Youtube videos out there but I personally have never done it. Hopefully you get more experienced help shortly.

Yep, if you touch the bulb you have to wipe it down with alcohol or else the oil will burn onto the glass and possibly busrt the bulb.

Figure out if you have HID or halogen stock bulbs first.

If they're halogen, they should be H7 bulbs. Replace them with an OEM bulb or long-life equivalent from the parts store.

Bulbs tend to dim over time, so a brand new stock bulb should be noticeably brighter.

If your car has a lot of highway miles, the headlights could also be hazed and needing a good buffing to clean them up.
