Hello all, hoping to get some insight on this. I disconnected the negative battery terminal on 10/24 to clear DTCs remaining from an intermittent misfire. After having the cable off for 15-20 seconds I reconnected it and re-tightened the cable. I got into the car and started it just long enough to verify that the check engine light had cleared. The vehicle then sat unused for the rest of the weekend.

10/26 The wife is ready to leave for work, and the vehicle will crank but not start. I run home to take a look and after pressing the accelerator down for 3-5 seconds while cranking the engine sputtered to a start and ran like a champ. I have started it 5-8 more times throughout the day and it starts up normally.

My main concern is finding out what caused this issue, as I do not want my wife to be the one to get stuck while she is working in underprivileged neighborhoods. Anyone have any ideas: You're up gurus!

Bump: no ideas? I have not had the issue since, still wondering what may have caused the problem

If the car is working, you have no issue. It sounds like maybe it got flooded when you first tried to start, thats why you have to press and hold gas to start a flooded engine. I would not worry about, and honestly, living in Rhode Island I would not be too concerned with "underprivileged neighborhoods." No matter how bad you think it is, its Rhode Island, not South Chicago.
