Default 1990 ES250 in Norway

Bought a Lexus last weekend. That is No. 5. I have 4x LS400 ...

This is the only 1st generation ES in Norway! 1990 ES250.

It was imported from the United States in 1993.

The car is actually in pretty good condition.

Very cool! I haven't seen one of those in ages. You have quite a collection of vintage Japanese metal.

I start to have too many old Japanese cars, but ...

I come over and rescues many, and some go on to other enthusiasts ....

I see one parked in front of my work every now and then, that looks more like a 90s camry than a proper Lexus ES lol.

Must be hard getting parts for it in Norway gotta be imported, gonna be a b1tch every time...

The strange thing is in Japan the ES is still considered a Toyota Windom, The lines between Lexus and Toyota are quite blurred there...

In the USA, at least where I'm from Hawaii, I want to say 50-60% of Luxury cars are Lexuses, then Mercedes benz, BMW, Infiniti and Acura.

Old Japanese cars are finally starting to rise in value. I would say you are spending your money wisely, especially on the ones from the 1970s.

In Norway, we have a great environment for American cars, and many veteran car clubs. But Japanese cars have always been looked down upon.

Now some begins to see the value of all the fine Japanese cars from the 60s and up.
We are working to collect all the Japan car clubs, so that we can organize larger and more meets ...

It has been that way in the United States as well. Which is good for collectors because prices stayed low, that is beginning to change however and the old Japanese cars are so much rarer than the American ones. Parts for these can be an issue as well. Best of luck on your car club. We have some in the United States, here is the big one:

Yes, mostly on the west coast however. The cars were shipped there first and America wasn't quite ready for Japanese cars yet so there are a lot of classics in Washington, Oregon and California. I would love to have an old Datsun 510, Toyota Starlet or a Mazda RX3 someday. Would also like an old tiny pickup truck but I would have a hard time choosing between Toyota, Datsun, or the Mazda REPU. I have a thing for rotary engines, I can't explain it. Also of course I would like a Toyota FJ40 land cruiser for off road fun.

Overall the car looks amazing, the trunk hinges are not failing like almost all of them I've seen. The interior of the ES250 is much nicer than most people realize, even the cloth version.

Your ES looks like it's in excellent condition! I would love to find a clean one but they're so hard to find around here.
