I have been searching the threads and the net for a while now and have not found a solution.

My center console lights are not working with the headlights on.

If I turn the lights off then they work.

They originally worked. The issue started when I was trying to get the ashtray lighter to work.

I have checked and replaced any bad fuses.

I am also have a brightness issue with the instrument cluster.

I have full on, full dim or off. In full dim you can still see the cluster but it is at the dimmest visible setting.

Not sure about the center console issue, but the dimmer problem sounds like your potentiometer has degraded. You might be able to pull it apart and clean the contacts with solvent and/or fine sandpaper. If you cannot do this I am afraid you will need to purchase a new potentiometer.

I am still having the issue with the console lights.
