Default '02 turn signal and lock sounds too quiet

OK, ES300, the turn signal sound is almost unnoticeable, and the lock/unlock beep is too, even turned all the way up. My '01 had a nice loud blinker and lock/unlock beep - is this normal and can they be made louder? Thanx in advance.

I have the same concern about my 2005 ES330. The blinkers are way too quiet and it's too easy to accidentally leave a blinker on without the audio cue to hear.

I guess I could stop listening to loud sports talk radio shows.

Same here, my Lexus ES330 blinkers are quiet, but I like them that way, its just part of that "luxurious" feel I guess.
The ones in my Solara are too loud.

I'm sure you can rig up a louder beeper to the circuit.

By the way, from what I've read it's not possible to just change some existing setting to dramatically increase the volume of the blinker sound. I might be wrong, but that's what my own limited research has led me to believe.

I have to agree, they seem mute and perfect to me. If I can't see the inidcator on the dash, then I'm also not driving intelligently. I can hear the locks actuate quite well; no different from other cars I have IMO. No beep (that would be redundant) - you hear them quite well. If the OP meant the alarm "lock" beep, I can hear it inside the house when the car is outside, or in a parking lot from 20' away. I consider that adequate and not "rude" like some older vehicles. I would definitely not like it louder; would be far too CL ("Chrysler-like") to me.

I also had a similar vintage Solara like you and in comparison it was harsh on most user-infterface points. Love the difference.

It looked to me as though the OP was asking whether anything could be done to increase the volume related to the functions in question, not necessarily asking for a debate on whether the "as is" volume of these items on other people's cars was adequate to them. Just sayin'...

You're welcome. Too bad there's not a built-in volume control for the blinkers like with the lock beep. Or a way to control the blinker volume via Techstream software or the like, but my understanding is that there is no such adjustment available.

I've turned the lock beep up all the way on my ES330 and I like it at that level (suits my personal hearing that way).

The blinkers on mine get almost completely drowned out by ambient road noise and traffic when I'm in situations like freeway driving. At slower speeds I hear them just fine, but most of the time mine are well below my radio volume (regardless of where I'm driving...neighborhood or freeway), so I don't hear them in radio listening mode, either. I mostly like the lower level of volume on the blinkers, but not in all situations.

I wonder if the lock/unlock beeper can be installed from an '01? What would that part be called?
