2002 Lexus ES 300... Should I buy???
Hey CL Forums!
I been reading around for some time but finally registered so hello everyone
I have the option to buy a nice, clean, 2002 ES 300 with 129k miles. 2 previous owners but accident on the CarFax report.
I'm getting a good deal i believe for $4,000. Should I buy it?? or should i look for something else.
I mean I'm not sure what other option i have for that budget of $4,000- $5,000 dollars.
Anything else competes in that range? will I be happy with my purchase? I've always loved the Lexus brand, due to the smoothness of the ride and reliability.
thoughts and inputs would be appreciated

Its a great car. Make sure you test drive in stop and go traffic and are okay with how the throttle responds and transmission shifts.
Also make sure the timing belt service was recently completed.
How bad was the accident damage? Was it near the front where vital components are? Or was it just cosmetic? The two things to watch with accident cars are rust and frame/suspension damage that can lead to long term tire wear.

It would definitely make me think twice about buying a car with an accident history. The thing about cars that are repaired, there's always gonna be something that indicates the car was in an accident. (either the sloppiness of the work, paint flaws, overspray, mis-alignment, broken tabs, missing screws, clips etc.)
What does the FOX SAY? lol, I might be ok with a bumper replacement, though body work would probably be a no-no.
If in doubt, pass... there are plenty of cars in that range 4-5k 100k miles.
Other car I would have liked to own, little higher price range is a nice clean IS300.
