Default 2003 ES300 Electronic Struts Replacement

Newbie here. I have 2003 ES300 with adaptive variable suspension, so electronic struts. Car drive "bouncy" when hit on bumps. It has 200,000 miles with original struts. Was qouted $2000 just to fix the front pair using lexus parts. The front passanger side seems to be in worst condition, but I am guessing that changing only one strut is not a good idea? Can I just replace all my front struts with regular ones? Will any dashboard light comes up or any other side effect? Will it pass California test for smog (think no dashbord light, no error code...etc)?

I did a few google and couldn't find any after market, nor suspension conversion for the 2003 electronic struts model. Any suggestion, or recommendation
