Welcome Aboard Jig804,

Okay, where is the idle in park? Remember count backwards 1000,800,600 so on, there is no Zero. Zero if off :-)

Slowly check all vacuum lines. It should have thrown a CEL. Did it?

Jim

Okay, if automatic, it should be 750 RPM steady and should not fluctuate by 100 RPMs. If manual it is 700 RPM steady idle.

Let's do a test. While on, press the gas to bring the RPMS upto 800 then drop into gear. Put left foot on the brakes and parking brake on. Check if it will stall.

So did it throw the Check Engine Light?

Most likely you have a vacuum leak or a sensor is disconnected/failed.

Was there recent work done.

If you can borrow an OBDII reader. It can point you in the right direction.

In a pinch you can go on Craigslist and locate a rental for real cheap.

If you can, post a video of your engine compartment, concentrating on the vacuum lines. Make oil cap is tight and PCV is connected.

Lucky, Bank 2 is you front O2 sensor. You can see soon as you open the lid. Check the connector and reconnect if needed making sure wire and housing is not touching the manifold or it will melt ( This is not the cause of your stalling )

"had starter put on" so you let a monkey wrench put it on? Okay, check around the starter, near the air filter box, I bet one or more lines were pulled off by accident or carelessness.

O2S includes but not limited to regulating your AIR FUEL mixture to make it run at it's most optimal state to save fuel and keep fuel from being dumped into the exhaust system, especially at idle. If you do not address this you will either run too rich or too lean, not good for your catalyst or valves.

Your stall issue is one or more disconnected lines. You may hear a hiss if you are lucky.

Get some rest and tackle it in the morning.

Just curious. Does it do the same thing when you put it in Reverse instead of in Drive?
