I have a 97 ES300 with a non-transponder key and remote. Does anyone know if it is possible to take a remote key from a 00-01 ES300 and program the remote portion to a 97? Obviously I don't need to worry about transponder compatibility as my car does not use a transponder, but it would be nice if I could have a remote key cut and program the remote.

if the FCCID on the rear of your current remote keyfob matches the one on the 00-01 it should work.

Strangely, this ebay seller saying the 97-99 remote works on the 00-01 if so then maybe the reverse also works? I would message him if I were you to ask if he knows.

BTW, not toyota related but I have a 09 Honda fit, and I'm using a Acura TSX flipkey remote combo.

Someone figured out that the FCCIDs matched with the fit one and sure enough it programs fine, even had it cut to my code at the Acura Dealer. Though I had to ask the Honda dealer to program my Immobilizer chips but everything works.

This link (http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Replacem...37d227&vxp=mtr) says its compatible with the ES 300 and I plan on buying it soon for my car since its cheaper than getting the remote by itself. I'll have to get someone to cut the key though because my closest Lexus stealership is an hour away from me.
