Default Suddenly Ride Is Not Smooth?

My wife is driving to NYC. She said that since she stopped at a gas station on the NJ Turnpike, the ride has not been smooth (kinda bumpy). She said tires looked fine. What could cause this?

First thing to go is check tire air pressure. You can't do that by looking at the tires and saying they look fine.

Yeah could be tire pressure, could be something lodged into the tire tread, or an alignment weight may have fallen off, etc. Probably nothing to difficult to determine.

I'm in Maryland and she's now in NJ, so I can't check the tires myself

She said the bumpy ride started after she stopped at a gas station. I'm not sure how that has something to do with sudden bumpy ride

They may have checked her tires, and either overinflated or iunderinflated.

She said they put gas and cleaned the windshield. That's it. Gas station employees at NJ Turnpike don't voluntarily check tires.

If it's at higher speeds you could have thrown a rim out of balance. This happened to my wife's car once and it would shake around 70mph.

It is possible with bumps, a wheel weight might have fallen off causing vibrations past 60mph. I got brand new tires once at costco and had to rebalance 2 days later after all the vibrations. I thought of a bunch of things but that particular issue was fixed immediately.

Perhaps they pumped some really low grade gasoline causing the engine to bog down?
