Default Es330 2004 a/c don't work

Hello. I work in Toyota dealer ans I have do many test.

My a/c light blink 3 sec after turning on a/c.

I have bypass de magnitic relay and this is cold.
I have do vacuum and refull the system.

In diagnostic mode, I have two error, 21-24 for the sun sensor but I don't think this is the problem.

I have test the ac pressure switch on pin 1-4 and same be good but 2-3 to ecm dont react when I active the ac and be always open.

We do have change the ac pressure switch many time ?

Make sure you have the correct relay for the magnetic clutch.
Part # 90987–02028

Here's the Service Bulletin stating the issue you have.
https://testing-public.carmd.com/Tsb...492/L-EL009-05

AC pressure switch Terminal 1 is from the ECU
2 and 3 are internal contacts inside the pressure switch
Terminal 4 is straight to ground. (should be a white wire with a black line tracer)
So its normal 2-3 wont do anything.
What you can do is jump 1-4 to complete the ground.
But i doubt this is your problem.

If you are still having the issue, more likely it will be in the Compressor/Clutch assembly.

Thanks for your anwser!

I have check directly on pressure switch if 1-4 are close or open with fully charge system and switch was close ( 0,0 Ohms) and 2-3 when I active compressor (apply 12v) and I'm always open. I have do this test max 5 sec for not overpressure system. When I do this, I have cold air in car so I have no doubt that it is the compressor.

I have not check for ground quality or bypass the sensor by short directly 1-3 to ground. I will test it immediatly when I can!

I have make new test!

the two ground at pressure switch have 23 ohm, to hight! I need to repare this, but this is not the real trouble because if I jump the two wire at this sensor ( to ecm and a/c module ) directly to the ground at battery, this make no change and fan start to work. If I check for voltage of this two wire, I have 12V.

I have check the ohm of compressor ( wire at magnetic relay to ground ) and I have 8.5 ohm. That's same be nice for compressor.

The relay is grey with parts number finish by 28 ! Make a change relay with horn relay and no change.

Again, if a put 12 v directly to compressor, air turn cold.

If I push AC button conpressor turn on and turn... Air start to be colder and... Paff turn off and ac light blinking!

I always have error code 21-24 for solar sensor thats same weird to be the reason of this trouble.

This is possible that's the compressor are in trouble even the clutch make her job and air turn to cold ? This ac system have not 250 parts....

- Compressor ( seems to work )
- Pressure sensor ( GOOD )
- ECM ( GOOD )
- a/c control ( GOOD )
- Relay ( GOOD )

Ignore the solar code.

The AC compressor has rotational sensor.
If it see's it does not match the speed of the engine, it will disengage.

You will physically see the sensor since its inside the compressor.
Call it a safety feature so you dont lock or burn up your compressor while driving.

If your checks are good on other components of the AC, then whats left?

Tanks again!

You have reason, the compressor have a speed sensor. I have finally see it when I have check the connector of the compressor (3 wires) and I have search what for 3 wire, not only one. After many research, I have find this sensor on compressor so I have check how to check this sensor with code 22 and finally iI have see this code active, not only 21 and 24!!! After this test, I have see your awnser abount this sensor hahaha !

So I need to replace this sensor and replace clutch assembly at the same time.

Again, tanks very much for your support ans sorry for my bad english!

I will check at my job (dealer toyota) for OEM parts from camry (same parts number that es330 with v6 3.3) but I think the best choice is new compressor!

RockAuto Compressor witch Clutch:

No problem
Code 22 is a A.C. Compressor lock sensor circuit.

I would trust only a DENSO reman AC compressor assembly
