I will be calling for estimates to get timing belt and alternator belt replaced on my 02 ES300 since it's approaching 90k. Is it advisable to replace any other belts at the same time? Is the serpentine belt same or different than the alternator belt?

Thanks for any pointers.

Car does not have a serpentine belt although some call it that, it is the outer belt also known as the alternator belt.

One other belt in the car I believe is the power-steering belt.

Yes, two belts - alternator and PS.

You also want to change the timing belt tensioner and water pump at the same time. Tensioners fail and though most water pumps are just fine after a single timing belt interval, they are cheap enough to just replace while in there.

Be sure they use the correct coolant to be compatible with your existing type when completing. Toyota Red, Pentofrost A1 (both concentrates) or Zerex Asian (pre-mixed).
