I've been looking for a used car for over a month and have had to re-apply for my loan as I'm taking so long. I need to find a car and I really like the Lexus quality and comfort. At my budget, I could get a nearly new Fit/Accent class car or a used ES, loaded Camry, Accord, etc.

2006 ES330, 87k, 1-owner/dealer, asking $13500. Will be needing the timing belt service.

2006 ES330, 81k, private party, asking $10500. Looked up service on myLexus site, will be needing timing belt service, but has been maintained mostly at Lexus dealer. Not a huge fan of the Gold, but the price is tempting.

Any opinions?

I missed out on a 2007 IS250, 62k, red, the other day. The guys was selling it before trading in the next day. It went for $13,500...dealers would have had it at $18k+.

get inspection at lexus and quote for TB. deduct what they say must be done plus cost TB from asking price. example: my 05 ES at 100K needed all 4 struts, water pump and hose for power steering, $3500.00. It is still the best road car we own.

If the color really turns you off, don't buy it to save a grand or two, because your going to be one looking at the car on your driveway everyday for the rest of your life.

I'm not familiar with US prices, but north of the border prices for ES330's are half of what you're quoting. Arrange for the timing belt to be done as part of the negotiation.
