lexus es 300 1995
hello i am new to this site i was hoping to possibly get some positive influence on my current issues with my lexus es300 1995. any help is very much appreciated!
model ... 1995 es300
problems ...
loss of power ( cannot press the pedal to the floor while driving or the engine surges out. tries to down shift to speed up but no movement ) it is not a transmission isssue. i have to keep it under 3000 rpm while speeding up and driving or it will act as if it wants to die out or revs up and surges
if i sit in park and floor the gas pedal it will rev to 2500 or 3000 and pulse and have after fire / back fire although if i let the pedal up alittle it will rev up pretty much normally

With such symptoms, your check engine light should be on. or at least there should be some pending codes in memory.
You will need to read these codes using a code reader or scanner and determine what they are.

The problem is probably due to the fact that you used aftermarket knock sensors. Am I right?
After market knock sensors seldom work properly on Lexus cars. You should also have replaced the knock sensor wiring harness at the same time.

Problem solved !!!
All of the parts were oem. although i did find the issue ...
it was a vacuum valve behind the throttle body. the valve went from the valve cover near the firewall to the vacuum valve and then to the throttle body
i was at u pull it feeling pretty hopeless when i noticed all these 1mz-fe engines were missing this vacuum valve behind the throttle body. my thought process was that if they have all been taken it might be a common part that went out. i tried it and it worked ! thank you very much
