2005 ES330 Driver window odd behavior
So, I've seen threads on where the window won't go up, won't go down...where the button on the "Master Control" of the driver door stops working.
Mine is a bit odd, and intermittent.
It works just fine most of the time. But sometimes when rolling the window up, it just stops working entirely. Then it won't roll up or down anymore.
But the odd part is, simply restarting the car (turn the car off, open/close the door so the car thinks I got out, then restart) makes it work again.
Odd? Or has someone else seen this before?
I'll also mention I JUST BOUGHT this car 3 days ago, first time Lexus owner.

Start with the easy stuff. Open the switch and clean the contact points, and make sure the wiring harness is tight.
Then check the wiring at the motor when the issue occurs. If the motor is getting voltage, you know something's wrong with the motor. If not, look to the body control unit to make sure its always getting voltage.

Also inspect the "glass run" - gasket track the window slides in. Some break, it happened to ours and was really common among Corrollas in this era/generation, less so in these but not unheard of. They usually break in the upper rear corner and then can slide/slip and bind up the glass movement. Yours sounds electrical but it's worth inspecting.

The thing I found most odd about this (and I haven't taken the door apart yet) is that simply killing & restarting the car fixes the issue (until the next time it happens).

My mom had an 05 ES 330 and I currently drive an 03 ES 300. Same situation happened with my moms ES 330 and the dealer said to literally open and slam the door a few times and the window should go right up. Sometimes it gets stuck. Also happened to the rear driver window, too.

It doesn't require a slam. Simply OPENING the door after turning off the key is enough (you know how the radio/windows/etc continue to work until you open the driver's door). Then restart the vehicle, and BAM, window works again.
Weird, huh?
Is there a power-window brain somewhere that's getting reset?
