Default California emissions? How to tell without original hood

Hi.

I have a 2003 es300 on which the hood has been replaced. I don't know whether or not it has California emissions, and need to find out. Because of my state laws, if it came with California emissions, it has to remain California compliant. Meaning I cannot replace parts with 49th state versions.

Can somebody please help me figure out whether or not my car is a California emissions vehicle? The hood was replaced by the previous owner and I can't tell without the sticker that was on the original hood.

Thanks

I don't think there is a Cali emissions version for the 2003 all the cars are the same.

When ordering emissions parts, there is an option for both. And of course non Cali is cheaper. I am not in Cali but I am in a state that will fail the car if it was Cali from the factory and a non Cali part was put on

I am going to call lexus tomorrow and see what they have to say

Well it could be that it is... But the parts market is dynamic for sure. Some sources say all Lexi have been Cali compliment since the early mid 90's

I can decode your VIN if you like. PM it to me, but I have been off the forum for quite a while so if no reply, look me up on FB "Jeremy Vreeland" I have been spending a lot of time in a group called 1MZ.

Unfortunately the didn't give me the info. There is a chance this might get taken car of at no cost to me... I am praying that that is the outcome

And because Lexus only shows one part, I beilive they all are Cali certified. That means I am probly going to just buy a Cali one if I don't get it done for free. New York law is that if it came from the factory Cali compliant, it must remain Cali compliant. So that's what I am gonna do. It's gonna be expensive if it's not done for free.
