Change My Oil NOW?
Back on September 12th, I purchased a 2002 ES300 new. Because of the severity of the winter here in PIttsburgh, I drove my old vehicle for most of the winter. As a result, my ES only has 2850 miles on it now. I am wondering if I should change the oil now (6 months) or if I am OK with the original factory oil until 7500 miles.

with new vehicles i prefer to do the first 3 changes every 1500 - 2000 km
this is alot ,especially when told to wait 7500 mile
but to me $10 (since i am only using regular oil and not syntetic for the break in period)hey i love cars and would love to keep pristine as long as possible since i usually keep mine for a while
break in is full of metal shavings from the break in so like i sadi 10 is a cheap investment
hope this helps

change your oil the next chance you get. you missed the 1k mi change. If you bought new, this service is free from the dealer (oil and filter at 1k and 5k miles)
Switch to synthetic oil if you wish (good idea for PA temps in winter) on the third oil change. Rule of thumb, from what I have heard and what I have read.
Change every 3k mi or every 4 months with dino oils.
Change every 5k mi or every 4 months with synthetic.
Either shedule, change your filter each time. Filters with back-flow valves are preferred (Mobil 1, K&N, Toyota/Lexus orginal part).
congrats on the 02 ES. I bought mine on Sept. 7. It is a totally awesome vehicle. what color? Just to let you know, once you do it the first time by yourself, it is a walk in the park after that. This is the easiest car I have ever owned to change the oil by myself. No ramps of floor lift are needed. A simple floor jack is sufficient (the one in the trunk will work). The position of the drain plug is such that you don't need to crawl way under the car. It is within arms length with a long socket wrench. The filter you get at from standing in front of the car.
Like I said, piece of cake.
