99 ES 300 misfire on cylinder #5, codes p1153,p0305,p1320
So today my Lexus 300 decided I had too much money and that it needed too deprive me of some. Apparently it hasn't seen my bank account, but regardless here I am.
It is misfiring, but it doesn't seem like a 100% misfire. Last summer I had a few coils go bad, so I remember what a full misfire was like, this is not quite as bad. I'm trying to figure out the problem here, but the combination of codes has me a bit stumped.
In the past year I have replaced all 6 coils and spark plugs, so my guess is they are fine. I replaced the VVT solenoid on the rear bank this spring. I had ordered 2 of them just in case and never put the front one in. I knew it was unlikely to fix it but I went ahead today and changed out the front bank solenoid as well. All these things I've done have fixed previous misfire errors and car had been running fine.
Last week I replaced the alternator if that would matter any. It's been a week, no problems.
Car has about 173,000 miles on it.
The codes:
p1153 (Bank2) Response rate deteriorations level is high
p0305 Misfire Detected in Cylinder #5
p1320 IGf signal does not return from ignitor
I've tried searching around to find a solution, but I've come up blank over. I've noticed that p1153 usually involves replaces the A/F sensor. My car is from California, I believe I have A/F sensors, not O2 sensors but I'm no expert on that. If it was just that code, it seems to be straight forward.
However it's the other 2 codes that give me pause. As perhaps a problem on cylinder #5 could be triggering the P1153? Is that possible? And would an A/F sensor cause trouble on just the 1 cylinder?
The p1320 is the one that I think might be the problem rather than the P1153. Could it be I have a bad coil? I actually have some working replacements, but the #5 is like the worst one that could happen on.
My usual mechanic can't look at the car until Thursday, and he said he wasn't sure what it could be without looking at it.
Anyone had similar problems and know the fix?
Thanks
