Wink The time has come....

.... to move on.

My ES is gone as of tomorrow.

Insurance is killer overall;

I was looking into an '07 Audi S4, 6sp, but 3k to insure, and fuel-hungry car... not smart financially.

I couldn't find a GS I liked at the auctions; all the colors were wrong, or too expensive. Insurance was between 2100-2400$ for a hybrid & non hybrid respectively.

So.... I settled on a Subaru Forester XT, top of the line, much cheaper on insurance and overall purchase price. I'll be back in a Lexus within 1-2 yrs, this is a temporary car.

Take care gentle-dudes!

Good choice. What year, and what's the difference in insurance rates?

Why is insurance so high on an ES? I thought these were grampa cars and since no one races them, steals them or crashes them as frequently, the rates would be inline with mainstream mid-size sedans.

I want(ed) an 08 GS350 preferably a GS450h... Hybrid being cheaper, It's coming, this is going to be a very temporary car, aka 2yrs no more.

I still got an RX & CT at home...

I got 4k, my asking. It was cheaper on the forums/friends option instead of dealing with Kijiji, so that was a higher price.

It was private sale, friend of a friend made the sale for me. Even paid me for the safety! 4370$ in total... I was thinking I'd barely get 3500$ for it......

Cheers guys.

Bad pic, but this is it;

I will say, respect your cars people... there is definitely a small lack of refinement and the 'little' things that I do miss about the ES.

Homelink, lights above the visors [i know, wtf?], ONE power seat in a 'premium' model, like I said, little things.

Maybe you've mentioned it already but why did you sell the ES?
To lower my insurance costs, I went to liability only and it's about $200 per six months for me.
In my case, the car has no real value so I don't care if it gets dinged or crashed.

Too bad your gone for now at least. Good luck with the Sub.

^ "just because"... many look at me like I'm stupid for selling it, due to it being clean & a LOT of money went into it for maintenance.

But I simply wanted a change. I got bored with it, being in the family for a decade and driving it for ~6yrs of that time, it was time...

My ES was stupid cheap to insure, it went up a few bucks a month with this thing, but its much newer and totally different for a change... against all of the WRX/Impreza/STI's around here. People don't expect it when a Forester blows by them
