Default 2002 ES 300 not starting.

Just went to start the car and nothing! Tried jumping it but no luck. Got a new battery and still nothing! I know nothing about cars so any input would be appreciated. I also realise this could be one of many things but is there something I can try before getting it towed to the mechanic?
The photo shows what is on the dashboard. The oil was also changed 2 weeks ago but both oil lights are on.
Thanks.

More details needed. For example, and most important, does it crank and does not start, or does it not crank at all?

Any after market security system and/or remote starter installed?

Any work done to it lately?

Doesn't crank at all. No aftermarket security system or remote stater. No issues for a couple of years now, it's been running great and is serviced regularly.

Try tapping the starter a few times, the end of a broom stick will do. Than try and crank it. See if that gets it going. Repeat several times.

It's better with a helper, as he/she can tap while you crank. Or visa versa

Ditto!!! Happened to me on my 2002 ES300 a couple of months back. Tapped on the starter and started right up. Replaced the starter and life is good again.

Thanks for the replies. As I mentioned I know nothing about cars so where is the starter?

OK, I googled it and found the starter. Tapped it and it started up right away. Thanks for the help. Is it something I could replace or leave it to a mechanic?

It's relatively easy to replace, however if you don't know what you're doing, or don't have tools, than its better to bring to a garage. Shouldn't take more than 1hr labor.

You can watch this YouTube video as to hw it's done. It's for a 1999 es300, but te procedure is very similar to yours.

Don't wait however. It WILL happen again, and next time you may not be so lucky.

Phil
