Default Kenwood radio question

Hope you all had a great Memorial weekend.

I decided to stick myself in the car and tear a few things apart.

1) Window pillars re-done
2) installed new headlight assembly
3) front brake work
4) Installed a Kenwood DPX500BT

My question is about number 4. First, I am absolutely amazed at how easy this car is to work on.
I was a mechanic a few years back and the american cars (in my opinion) were just a pain to work on.

I digress. For installation I bought a wiring harness specifically for that stereo and the ES300 wiring (spot on!). Next, I used Posi-locks to join the wires.

There were two connections that came off the original stereo, but only a sparse few that were needed to reconnect to the new system.

My question is this, whenever the stereo is on regardless of station or source, I get a high pitched whine, it almost sounds like something spinning up. I checked the CD player and that wasn't it. Do all of the wires from both harnesses need to be attached or is this an issue with the Posi-locks?

The reason I ask, is because I thought I ran across an article where the Posi-Locks could cause this. Anyone else run across or heard of anything like this?

Thanks in advance,

-J

ground loop isolators, or re-do the grounds to the radio cage chassis.
