Default Picked up another 2ES

So today I went to go pick up a 1994 Lexus ES300 that I bought for $500 lol, talked him down from $700 which was what he offered. Originally it was listed for $1200. It's got 352k miles and still on original motor and tranny I believe The interior needs more wiping down to do because it was a smoker car..

Before quick wash:

After:

Does anyone know how to adjust the hood latch? my hood won't shut all the way lol
Also the thermometer needle inside the car is dead... isn't showing how hot or cold my engine is any ideas?

Are the rubber stoppers adjusted down properly? It looks to me like the it's only on the safety catch and not the actual latch proper. As for the temp reading, check to see if it's hooked up to the coolant temp sensor. That's the most likely culprit. Nice buy for $500 though.

Yeah if I push down on the hood it just won't latch onto the actual latch. The wires stretched out on the interior piece (Where you pull to open the hood). Hmm let me check on the temp sensor to see if anything is hooked up..

Update 5-19-14:

Fixed the hood latch by drilling a new hole for the spring because the existing hole is rotted.

Replaced the guage cluster bulbs

Ran into a problem with both rear door switch for the dome lights it won't turn on the dome light when I open it. It did before..? Anyone got the wiring diagram for it? Thanks!

What do you mean exactly, when you open the rear doors the dome light won't turn on? PM me your email and I can send you the wiring diagram.

UPDATE continued..

So while I wait on my rear brake components to come in, I decide to pop the valve cover gaskets off and replace them. As I took them off I was surprised how clean and sludge free it was... Then I found out it's a swapped motor with unknown mileage....
