Wiper Control Stalk

This one's for you, Power6.
1. Is the factory speed control switch supposed to "click" into each setting with a bit of resistance? This is the round switch that you twist to adjust the speed of the Lowest setting. I find myself fiddling with it while I drive because I always miss the notch in each setting - the switch is very loose.
I have not owned the car since new, so I'm wondering if that's normal for this model. I've operated this switch on other newer Lexus cars and they feel much more snug and precise.
2. Power6, how does the IS300 stalk compare to what i described? Do I need a newer ES300 stalk or do they all do this?

It's supposed to click into each setting, and the rotation should be smooth but with some resistance. This is the perfect time to swap in the IS300 control, the one I got operates like new I guess I got lucky.

Yeah it clicks through 4 detents. I have been meaning to check if there are actually only 4 intermittent settings...or in between the detents gives you a different int time, my mind had been convinced it does but probably not.
Totally time to get the IS300 switch, exactly the same operation but for the mist. You need to have the mist man seriously how can people live without it, click-on click-off every time you need a wipe...
