You know there isn't much recourse here, the dealer doesn't always know about the history, or they can claim ignorance, if they used the same Carfax that shows no accident. My car is the same way, it is in great shape but after I bought it I noticed that there was body work on the left rear quarter and door.

I blame myself, because with the experience I have I know how to identify body work, it is very plain to see if you know what you are looking for. It was just my bad for not inspecting the car closer. But at the end of the day the car looks great, runs great etc so it doesn't matter except for resale, but no plans to sell the car and I feel I've gotten my money's worth.

Same here. I know what to look for but it was a rainy day and black paint work was hard to see the day I bought my Solara. Upon delivery I got the CarProof showing past accident damage (which didn't matter to me because it was my second beater car).

Now if I look closely I can see the differences in paint and clear-coat from one side of the car to the other. They did a decent job for a $2800 repair back in 2003.

I'm sorry but you are talking about a 13 year old car that had an accident 10 years ago that you paid 3000 for. Getoff your high horse and stop crying. You said you had to replace stuff and your trans is having issues. Body works from 10 years ago is the very least of your issues. That is just my .02.

It's my pity party and I can cry if I want to.

You post contributes nothing to this thread, don't like the discussion don't post. The value of the the car doesn't matter, unless you think you know what the cut off price is where one should not worry about the vehicle history.

I think his point is that it is, what it is.

This happens, so there are few things to do but move on.
