Default Power outlet in armrest not working

Cigarette outlet is working fine, but the power outlet in my armrest is not working. Checked the fuse and it's fine, but went ahead and replaced it anyway. Any tricks to fixing this one? Thanks.

Well they're on different circuits. The cigarette lighter is on a 15A cig fuse whereas the power outlet has its own fuse 15A called power outlet. If you've already gone ahead and changed the correct fuse, then the next thing to do would be to get a digital multimeter and look at what voltage you're getting at the power outlet. Use a known good ground for the black lead, I generally use one of the bolts that hold the seat down when in the car. The red lead then just goes into the power outlet and you should be receiving battery voltage (12v) regardless if the car is on or off. This is an incredibly simplistic circuit so theres not much to it, either your fuse was bad, the outlet itself, or you lost your ground. But the last one isn't likely unless you've been removing bolts but that one I believe is under the console between the two seats and doubt you got to that. So my guess is the outlet went bad if you replaced the correct fuse already.

Thanks Purechaos. I tested the outlet and I'm getting zero voltage from it. The original fuse was good, but I went ahead and replaced it and still no power. I'm guessing the outlet is bad, but I want to test that there is power at the plug behind the outlet before I say the outlet is bad. Is it hard to get the console out?

Make sure that you test for power with the ignition on. There is no power being delivered when the ignition is off
