Default Amsoil ATF - Long term results?

Hi All,

I am digging through the forums trying to find out more info about using Amsoil ATF and the long term results. I can only find threads from several years ago.

If you have used Amsoil ATF please state how many miles you have used it and if you are satisfied.

I've been using it for almost two years. I put it into my car and my sister's. I noticed a slight improvement in shifting behavior, as soon as I replaced my old fluid, but I think that will happen with any new fluid. I also noticed that the fluid stays red/fresh for much longer than conventional fluid. This was apparent when I did a drain and fill on my sister's car, since she drives a lot more than I do.

Another good point of reference [in general] is the forum; www.bobistheoilguy.com

These dorks actually pay to analyze the oils and such from their cars and discuss anything and everything oil/car/mpg/maintenance related on there.

Check there, if you really want to see oil breakdown analyses.

Hey, those UOA's are helpful in determining OCI. We don't only analyze used oil, but we also run VOA's (Virgin Oil Anaylsis).

Thanks for the replies so far. Most of the original threads that came up in searches were from '05 (ish). Back then people were like "ONLY USE T-IV OR YOUR TRANNY WILL DIE!!!"

Now that some years have passed I was hoping to hear some testimonials from people like MrBooby.

The benefit of AMSOIL ATF or any synthetic ATF for that matter, is that it can be used in any automatic transmission (aside from CVTs), so you don't need to worry about all those different Dexron, T-whatever ratings.

That's not true of all synthetic ATF's.

"ONLY USE T-IV OR YOUR TRANNY WILL DIE"

I like that quote.

I have used Amsoil ATF and that is an outstanding fluid, I also like Redline D4.

I sort of miss living in Mexico, Toyota Type IV was my only real option as the other fluids weren't readily available, and cost mucho dinero to bring in.

Was happy to ditch Type-IV when I came back to the USA.
