Default 348000.miles spun a bearing Help!!!

Well I only paid 400.00 for the car and I changed the oil twice in 3500 miles. Should I just rebuild the short block? I'm gonna do most of the work myself. I maybe trading my busted broken ranger for a motor and I just really want input so I can make the best possible choice. I own it and it's not pretty but it still good. No rust Carolina's car. Everything works well except the motor.

I had to look up your profile to find the year of your Lexus, but it really doesn't matter.

With 348,000 Miles, instead of repairing/rebuilding, you really should consider a used engine with much lower milage.

Just my opinion

Phil

AGREED. rebuilding the block with new parts here and there can be much more costly that replacing the hole thing.

A few seals for tranny and engine gasket kit. Mine 97 1mz went at 290k. We dropped the whole front cradle and rebuilt the new used motor before installing

Go with local junk yard motor. Sometimes these JDM companies import motors from other countries with different emissions, ECU's and sensors than US engine emission standards. better safe then sorry. But as said above, its always best to disassemble and fully inspect engine before installing new engine
