Default 2004 ES330 3 bad rear coils, okay to drive 800 miles?

I'm buying a 2004 ES330 with 63k miles. Its in New Jersey and I need to drive it back to Atlanta. The 3 rear coils need to be replaced. Any thoughts?

No, I'd be surprised if you could even bear to drive it around the neighborhood. Get it fixed beforehand.

I am guessing it is highly unlikely all 3 Bank1 coils are bad. Not saying the seller is fibbing but perhaps problem has been misdiagnosed. Maybe real problem is much more serious. I would not buy this car unless a competent mechanic checked it out.

That's straight from a Lexus dealer.

Highly unlikely 3 coils are bad, and all of them on the same bank. If 3 coils are indeed bad, you definitely cannot drive it that far, I would not drive a car like that for more than 1-2 miles myself.

replacing the coil should not cost that much if you can do it yourself

When was the last time you got the truth from a Lexus dealership? For me, it has been never.
